weight pushing down on your truck

When Ford builds a Super Duty with the factory fifth wheel prep package, they install four metal pucks in the bed. Most people do not even know they are there - they are covered by little plastic caps. The B&W Companion 20K is designed to drop directly into those pucks. No drilling holes in your truck. No bolting rails down. No permanent modifications whatsoever.

You literally set the base into the four pucks, turn the handles to lock it down, drop the hitch head on top, and you are ready to tow. The whole process takes maybe an hour if you are taking your time and reading the instructions. When you are done towing and want your truck bed back, reverse the process - pull two handles, lift it out, and you have a flat bed again. Takes about 30 seconds once you have done it a few times.

The hitch head pivots in every direction - front to back, side to side - which makes hooking up way easier because you do not have to be perfectly lined up. It also makes for a smoother ride because the head can move with the trailer instead of fighting it. B&W uses these thick one-inch steel jaws that wrap completely around your kingpin. Combined with the polyurethane bushings, you get zero rattle and zero slop. Cheap hitches clunk and bang going down the road. This one does not.

The height adjusts in three positions so you can level your trailer properly. This matters more than people think - an unlevel trailer puts weird stress on the hitch and the trailer frame, plus it affects how your trailer brakes work and how it handles going down the road.

B&W has been building hitches in Humboldt, Kansas since 1987. This is not some no-name import. They manufacture everything in-house with American steel and stand behind it. When something goes wrong - which is rare - you are dealing with a company that actually answers the phone and takes care of it.
