Built by someone who actually works on these rigs.

Not a content farm. Not a review aggregator. A real tool built by someone who's spent over a decade in hitch retail, RV parts, and the service bay.

Why StupidHitches exists

I've spent nearly a decade in the towing and RV industry. I started at a hitch shop — learned every brand, every mounting system, every compatibility quirk over 4.5 years while building their website and eventually running the place as general manager. I knew which hitch fit which truck before someone finished telling me their year and model.

Then I moved to an RV dealership where I spent a year and a half as a parts advisor, selling hitches face-to-face to people who'd just bought their first fifth wheel and had no idea what they needed. That job taught me a lot — mostly that the information gap is huge and the stakes are real.

After that, I ran the parts department for four years. Deciding what to stock, which brands to carry, which ones to drop after seeing too many warranty claims. You learn a lot about quality when you're the person who has to deal with the aftermath of a bad product.

Now I manage the service department. I see firsthand what holds up and what doesn't after thousands of miles on the road. The hitches that come in bent. The ones that come in looking brand new after years of heavy towing. That experience shapes every recommendation on this site.

Every week I see the same thing: truck owners confused about which hitch fits their setup, overwhelmed by spec sheets, and buying the wrong product because nobody made it simple. So I built this.

StupidHitches takes the confusion out of finding a fifth wheel hitch. Tell us your truck, tell us what's in your bed, and we'll show you every hitch that works. No hidden results. No paid placements. Just the right answers.
