The PullRite SuperGlide 20K is the higher-capacity version of their automatic sliding hitch. Twenty thousand pounds of towing with the same hands-free sliding action. Turn tight, the hitch slides back. Straighten out, it slides forward. No stopping, no manual adjustments, no thinking about it.
This is for short bed truck owners who want the convenience of automatic sliding combined with enough capacity for larger fifth wheels. The 16K version works great for lighter trailers, but if you are pushing closer to 20,000 pounds, this is the one you want.
The sliding mechanism is entirely mechanical. The turning forces from the trailer activate the slide - nothing electronic to break or maintain. PullRite has been building these for years and the design is proven reliable. Occasional lubrication of the rails is about all the maintenance required.
Installation takes longer than a fixed hitch. The sliding assembly has more parts and requires more precise setup. Some people DIY it, others prefer having a shop handle it. Either way, once it is in, you get to stop thinking about cab clearance on every turn.
For Ford Super Duty short bed trucks with factory puck prep. If you have a long bed, you probably do not need a slider at all - save the money and complexity and go with a fixed hitch.
