Expert Take

The 16K KW Series for Ford Super Duty is sized for lighter fifth wheels, dropping into the factory pucks with no rails needed. It's an easy install and a strong value, though the uncushioned head means a touch more chucking on rough roads.

About This Product

The Husky 16K KW Series is a rail-mounted fifth wheel hitch that uses industry-standard rails instead of truck-specific pucks. If your truck did not come with the factory puck system, or if you want a hitch that can move between different trucks, the rail system gives you that flexibility.

Sixteen thousand pounds of towing capacity handles most mid-size fifth wheels. The KW series uses a simple jaw design that grips the kingpin securely. Height adjustable to level your trailer. Straightforward construction without a lot of complexity to maintain or break.

Installation requires mounting the rails to your truck bed first, then the hitch attaches to the rails. More steps than a puck-mount hitch, but the rails become a permanent platform that works with any rail-mount hitch. If you upgrade hitches later, you keep the same rails.

Husky has been in the towing business a long time. The KW series is a no-frills hitch that focuses on getting the job done without premium features or premium pricing. Good choice if you want reliable towing without paying for bells and whistles you do not need.

Works with most full-size truck beds that can accept rail mounting. Check the specific rail requirements for your truck before ordering. If your truck has factory pucks, a puck-mount hitch is usually easier to install.
