Expert Take
A 24K-rated A-Series puck-mount with the same spherical articulating head as the rest of the line. It installs in factory pucks and delivers serious value for medium-heavy fivers, with only a slight ride penalty versus the cushioned premium hitches.
About This Product
The CURT A25 is their premium puck-mount hitch for Ford trucks. Twenty-four thousand pounds of towing capacity with a focus on one thing most hitches ignore - noise. CURT uses a patented system with poly-torsion inserts in the head that absorbs the shock and vibration that normally gets transmitted straight to your truck. The result is noticeably quieter towing.
Drops into Ford factory pucks like other hitches in this category. Quarter-turn anchors lock it down without any drilling or welding. What is different is how the anchors work - they are adjustable so you can fine-tune the fit and eliminate any play between the hitch and the pucks. Less play means less noise.
The head articulates in all directions and the jaws interlock completely around the kingpin. Self-resetting handle means you do not have to prep the hitch before each hookup - it is ready to go after you unhitch. There is a three-position indicator visible from outside the truck that shows whether you are open, closed, or locked.
CURT includes a lube plate so you do not need to grease the hitch. One-pin removal lets you take the head off the legs for easier storage. The whole thing is cast steel with a carbide powder coat finish.
This is for 8-foot bed trucks only. If you have a short bed, you need a slider version or you will have clearance problems making turns. Built to SAE J2638 standards with a limited lifetime warranty.
