Expert Take
The 20K A-Series is a fully-articulating puck-mount fifth wheel for mid-weight trailers, dropping into factory bed holes without rails. Solid build and excellent value, a smart pick if you don't need the top capacity ratings.
About This Product
The CURT A20 is the 20,000-pound version of their A-series puck-mount line. Same patented poly-torsion head design that reduces noise and vibration, same quarter-turn installation into Ford factory pucks. If you do not need the full 24K capacity and want to save some money, this gets you the same technology at a lower price point.
The installation is straightforward - remove the plastic caps from your Ford bed pucks, drop the hitch legs in, and turn the anchors a quarter turn to lock them. The anchors are adjustable so you can eliminate any slop between the hitch and the pucks. Tighter fit equals quieter towing.
CURT designed the head to move in all directions, not just front to back. The jaws wrap completely around the kingpin and interlock so there is no play. A self-resetting handle means the hitch is ready for the next hookup as soon as you unhitch - no manual prep required. You can see the coupling status from outside the truck with the three-position indicator.
Includes a polyethylene lube plate so you skip the messy grease. One-pin head removal for storage. Cast steel construction with carbide powder coat. Built for Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks with 8-foot beds and the factory puck system.
Long bed trucks only - short beds need a slider for proper cab clearance. SAE J2638 certified with a limited lifetime warranty from CURT.
