About This Product
B&W's 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box replaces your trailer's factory pin box with a gooseneck coupler, so the fifth wheel tows off a 2-5/16" ball instead of a fifth wheel hitch — and your truck bed stays open when you're not towing.
Cushioning comes from an integrated SumoSpring plus a dual-axis design that damps vertical and fore/aft movement. There are no air bags to inflate, no adjustments, and no break-in period. B&W states the adapter has been extensively tested and that using it should not void your trailer's frame warranty — a point worth confirming against your own trailer manufacturer's warranty language before you commit.
Pick by two things: your existing pin box's bolt pattern, and your pin weight. This version fits the Lippert 1621 and 1621HD (also Lippert 0719 and the Fabex PB 600 series) and is rated to 3,250 lb pin weight. B&W recommends the 3,250 lb model for a better ride up to about 3,500 lb of pin weight, and the 4,500 lb model above that. Lippert 1116 and 1716 pin boxes need the shim plate kit to account for the 12-1/2" mounting plate spacing.
Two 42" safety chains with hooks are included. Ram HD trucks with the factory prep package need the longer 51-1/2" chain kit.
