About This Product
The CURT Helux replaces your fifth wheel's pin box with a gooseneck coupler, so the trailer tows off a 2-5/16" ball and your truck bed is clear when you're not hooked up. The coupler auto-latches.
Cushioning is an automotive-grade coil spring and shock, not an air bag — so there's no air pressure to set, no break-in period, and CURT calls it virtually maintenance-free. CURT states the design reduces force on the RV frame and body by up to 30% compared with other gooseneck pin boxes. Tested to SAE J2638, built in the USA, black powder coat, limited lifetime warranty (one year on finish and parts). Safety chains, a cable-release kit and mounting hardware are included.
Two fitment notes. First, the Helux gooseneck line uses the Lippert Rhino Box bolt pattern and is approved for use on Lippert RV frames. Second — and this is the part people get wrong — every version in this line is 20,000 lb capacity; the only difference between part numbers is the maximum pin weight it's sprung for. Oversizing degrades ride quality, so weigh your actual pin weight using CURT's instruction sheet and pick the closest match rather than the biggest number. These are custom built at time of order.
