About This Product
The Gen-Y Executive replaces your fifth wheel's pin box with a gooseneck coupler, so the trailer tows off a 2-5/16" ball and the truck bed is free when you're not towing — no fifth wheel hitch to buy, install, or wrestle out of the bed.
Cushioning comes from Gen-Y's patented Torsion-Flex design, which uses rubber torsion cords as a built-in suspension. Gen-Y advertises up to a 90% smoother ride and notes a break-in period of roughly 1,000 miles. Gen-Y states all its products are tested to exceed SAE J2638 requirements.
Choosing between the versions: the two things that change across the line are the coupler (manual latch or auto latch with cable release) and the pin weight band. Gen-Y is explicit that you should stay within the optimal pin weight range for your part number rather than buying the biggest one. Across the range these cover roughly 18,000–30,000 lb towing.
Fits the LCI Rhino Box, Lippert 1621 and 1621HD, Lippert 1116 and 1716 (those two need add-on shim plates), and the LCI Turning Point. Installation takes four Grade 8 mounting bolts per side. It works with a recessed gooseneck ball as long as the top of the ball sits within 1" of the bed floor.

The Gen 3 Goose Box (20K) swaps your trailer's pin box for an air-ride gooseneck coupler, freeing up the truck bed entirely. The air cushion smooths the ride and cuts chucking, making it the standout pin-box conversion if you'd rather pull a fiver off a gooseneck ball.

The 22.5K Goose Box replaces your fifth wheel's pin box so the trailer rides on a gooseneck ball with built-in air suspension. It's the cleanest way to convert to gooseneck and the air bag soaks up chucking far better than a rigid coupler, all with no head taking up bed space.
